FQ
FQ sound-absorbing cotton is a polypropylene/polyester two-component structure of automotive sound-absorbing materials. Compared with traditional automotive sound-absorbing materials such as open-cell foam, felt, PET cotton, etc., the two-component structure of FQ sound-absorbing cotton has the characteristics of strong sound absorption, light weight, and fluffy. In addition, FQ sound-absorbing cotton also has the characteristics of heat insulation, environmental protection, dust-free, recyclable, hydrophobic and compressible.
(1) Sound absorption performance
FQ sound-absorbing cotton is a two-component structure composed of polypropylene and polyester fiber materials. Through a special blown melt technology, the diameter of the polypropylene fiber is controlled at 2nm and is wound on a polyester fiber with a diameter of 25nm. When sound passes through, the vibration and viscosity consumption of the ultra-fine polypropylene fiber and the tiny pores formed by it convert kinetic energy into heat energy and absorb sound energy. At the same time, the polyester coarse fiber ensures the fluffiness and compression resilience of the product.
Compared with felt of the same thickness, FQ sound-absorbing cotton has a sound absorption coefficient that is at least 20-30% higher than felt at half the weight.
(2) Lightweight
Compared with traditional automotive sound-absorbing materials such as open-cell foam, felt, PET cotton, etc., the two-component structure of FQ sound-absorbing cotton has a low density, only 1/4 to 1/2 of the former, which is conducive to the lightweight design of the car.
(3) Space filling property
Sound-absorbing cotton is fluffy, easy to compress, and has resilience, so it is easy to fill the cavity. When used in the door panels, ceilings, A/B/C pillars of the car, it can easily fill the cavity between the interior and the sheet metal, blocking the sound from propagating into the car along the cavity.
(4) Hydrophobic performance
Immerse the sound-absorbing cotton and felt in water at the same time and take them out after 5 minutes. The weight of FQ sound-absorbing cotton is 5 times its own weight, while the weight of felt is 70 times its own weight. After being placed at room temperature for 20 hours, the weight of FQ sound-absorbing cotton has returned to its original weight, while the weight of felt is still 5 times its own weight. The experiment shows that FQ sound-absorbing cotton is a "water-repellent" material.
(5) Anti-mold performance
The hydrophobic property of sound-absorbing cotton makes it anti-mold. Without water, bacteria and mold cannot grow, and no odor and mold spores will be produced, which will affect human health. Even if water enters the material, it will evaporate quickly, and the metal material of the car body will not be kept in moisture for a long time, thus preventing the possibility of rust.
The following anti-mold test was carried out:
Medium: potato dextrose (PDA)
Sample: polyester felt, resin felt, polyurethane foam material and FQ sound-absorbing cotton
Sample size: 30mm*30mm
Temperature and humidity: 25±2℃ and 75%RH
Test period: 4 weeks
It can be found that the new FQ sound-absorbing cotton has no mold, while other materials have mold spots, with a mold area of 10%-60%.
(6) Installation method
Common processing methods include: ① punching (cold edge sealing or hot press edge sealing); ② spraying; ③ laser processing, etc. Common installation methods include: ① ultrasonic welding; ② mechanical fixing; ③ tape or hot melt spray adhesive pasting. Ultrasonic welding is more commonly used, with low cost and no increase in weight.
(7) Flame retardant performance
FQ sound-absorbing cotton can pass the following flame retardant and smoke and toxicity requirements of the automotive industry: ①GB8410; ②FMVSS302; ③ASTM E-662; ④ASTM E-162 (smoke); ⑤BSS 7239 (toxicity); ⑥UL-94HB; ⑦UL-94HF; ⑧UBC 8-1
(8) Thermal insulation performance
FQ sound-absorbing cotton has a thermal insulation performance that is twice that of felt, while its weight is half that of felt. Therefore, this material can help cars save energy and improve the heating and cooling effects of air conditioners. When the temperature of the roof above the ceiling is 70 degrees, a 10mm thick, 200g Thinsulate sound-absorbing cotton is installed in the car ceiling. The temperature inside the car is 31 degrees, while the temperature inside the car is 34 degrees when the same thickness of felt is used.
(9) Aging resistance
In an environment of 120 degrees Celsius, the sound absorption will not change for 2000 hours.
(10) Health and safety
Polyolefin and polyester fibers with high purity can reduce the content of formaldehyde, toluene, etc. in FQ sound-absorbing cotton, and at the same time, no powder will escape to irritate the skin, meeting the current requirements of various automobile manufacturers for VOC (volatile organic compounds) and RoHS/ELV in the car.
