1. Silicone O-Rings

• Temperature Range: -50°C to 250°C (-58°F to 482°F)

• Resistance: Excellent temperature resistance. Poor oil resistance.

• Compliance: UL94-V0 flammability rating.

• Benefits: Silicone O-rings excel in extreme temperature environments and offer good flexibility. Their biocompatibility makes them ideal for medical and food-grade applications.

• Limitations: Not suitable for applications involving exposure to oils, fuels, or solvents.

2. EPDM O-Rings

• Material: Ethylene Propylene Diene Monomer (EPDM)

• Typical Applications: Food processing equipment, consumer electronics (3C), mechanical equipment (sealing gases or non-oil-based liquids), and new energy systems.

• Key Properties:

• Temperature Range: -40°C to 150°C (-40°F to 302°F)

• Resistance: Excellent resistance to oils, fuels, and other petroleum-based fluids.

• Limitations: Lower temperature range compared to silicone and FKM. Can be susceptible to ozone and weathering.

4. FKM O-Rings

• Material: Fluoroelastomer (FKM, e.g., Viton®)

• Typical Applications: Consumer electronics (3C), mechanical equipment, sealing oil-based liquids, aerospace equipment.

• Key Properties:

• Temperature Range: -50°C to 300°C (-58°F to 572°F)

• Resistance: Excellent resistance to a wide range of chemicals, oils, fuels, and high temperatures.

• Benefits: FKM O-rings offer the broadest range of chemical resistance and the highest temperature capability of the elastomers listed. Their heat resistance is considered the best for rubber o-rings.

• Limitations: Higher cost compared to other materials.
